Counselling Services

I love to work with individuals and in relationships, whether that is romantic, familial or friendship.

Sessions are done by preference, either in-person in Creekside, Whistler or virtually through our screens.

Individual Sessions are 55 minutes and 90 minutes for couples. I work with youth, through adolescence, young adulthood and adulthood. Living and working in a small town allows me to work with clients with a large scope of practice.

If you are new to counselling I have a 20-minute consultation call where we can get to know each other and you can share what led you to here.

Counselling + Therapy

  • 55-minute one-on-one sessions to explore your concerns, curiosities, goals, and anything you wish to discuss. This is your time! Individual counselling is an opportunity to prioritize your well-being. We can walk through difficult emotions with acceptance, self-compassion and validation. We can collaborate on problem-solving and explore your strengths and resources to manage anything life throws you. I’m not here to fix you or your problems; the counselling process isn’t over at the end of our session; it is an ongoing effort you put into yourself, between sessions and throughout your life. Treat yo-self!

  • An opportunity to work through building deeper connections to yourself and each other.

As a couple, you have options. In the first session, some couples benefit from coming together individually before coming together for counselling. This process means more sessions and can be beneficial for preparing to come as collaborative partners. Partners can also dive right in and come together in their first session.

This is an opportunity for you both to talk about your needs, fears, and concerns in your life as an individual and within your relationship. Sometimes, it’s hard to articulate our thoughts, feelings, and desires. I will help you navigate these conversations so that you both feel heard and understood, validated, and comfortable communicating these to your partner in the future.

  • Family counselling can provide the time and space for family members to discuss their concerns and understand how the family system operates. Through open communication, counselling can help families understand each member's perspective, build empathy and create support for the unit as a whole.

  • Adolescence is a challenging developmental period for everyone. Counselling can help teens navigate new perspectives, changes, emotions, and stresses that might feel too awkward or scary to talk with parents, teachers, or peers. Our sessions are between us and no one else. The same confidentiality clause in place for adults is the same for teens. Caregivers can attend with the permission of the teen.

  • Whether you have moved out on your own, just finished high school or university, lost a loved one, or are thinking of travelling or changing your career path, young adults go through many transitional periods, and you do not have to navigate this alone.

Anxiety and Depression

Everyone feels overwhelmed or sad sometimes. Let's get to the bottom of your experience of anxiety and/or depression and help you regulate your nervous system! Acknowledging, accepting, and experiencing our emotions is the first step to regulating them.

Recognizing avoidance behaviours that perpetuate anxiety and depression can break their cycle. Learning to identify and name your emotions and the physical sensations accompanying them, we will use techniques to ground you in those overwhelming moments.

Trauma

We are often exposed indirectly or directly to intense experiences. Trauma healing can help organize and make sense of those experiences so we can move forward with our lives and stop reliving those painful experiences through our memories of them. We will explore how these unhealed wounds appear in our present lives and relationships and spend time attending to them.

Emotional Regulation

Education about the nervous system, how it can be dysregulated and ways to find balance and calm inside your body. With practice, emotional regulation can help us choose how to respond to triggering situations and conversations.

Self-esteem

Negative self-talk can be the number one reason we have low self-esteem. Challenging those thought patterns and practicing new ways of talking to ourselves can boost self-esteem, empathy, and confidence.

Personal Growth

Are you feeling stuck or stagnant? I’ll help you bring your strengths into the light and remind you what you’re capable of. Connect with your passions and relearn how to achieve your flow state to boost your creativity and productivity.

Sexuality

A non-judgmental space to talk about your desires, libido, curiosities, questions about sex, and ways to communicate your intimacy needs with your partner(s). Together, we can reduce shame associated with certain aspects of sexuality, be our authentic selves, and feel comfortable in our skin.
